SIGHS

Everyday we sigh
the warmth of joy
tremble of sorrow
pant of love
moan of pain.
The sharpness of anger
slump of sorrow
ahhh of peace
all to choose, all to leave.
You and I choose the path
to shape our sigh.

I thought I would repost this as I still really like it.

Hey I was lost

Years have past, I'm now a grandma.. Yes that young couple on my last post, have been married now 4 years and a baby boy has blessed our family.
I've moved twice, but still remain in Calgary, near the Rocky Mountains which I love.
I teach English as a second language, teaching overseas briefly.
I've learnt to scuba drive and travelled to Aruba and Belize to do so.
I still have 2 cats, whom I love dearly.. Eze and Sasha
God's word is precious to me. He leads and encourages me daily.
Life is good.

Pride and Idols

Well its been a long time friends, life has moved along. Children marry, work goes on although in my house we have both started new jobs. Now I am a TESL instructor.
Right now I am studying Beth Moore's Breaking Free. Its been great. Today I read about pride and idols. Do you have idols? I didn't think that I did but...food...its always been a issue for me and rules the roost...earning money for retirement, there is never enough....trusting what the world and certain people say about these things more than God. Then pride, thinking I can look after all these things without God. Have you been there?

Wisdom teeth

Why do we have wisdom teeth? Does anyone use them? All my kids had theirs out when they were teenagers. My turn now. Fortunately I only have 2. So one is now gone. I was a little anxious as I have never had a tooth ache. First he used a couple of wedge shaped tools to pry under the tooth and then a pliers to twist and pull. I discovered it doesn't take strength only leverage. The pain lasted only one day so I was much relieved.
God says that any of us who lack wisdom need only to ask and he will provide it. Thanks, I will make sure I ask more often, especially now that I am lacking.
God also says that Fear (respect, awe) of God is the beginning of wisdom. I pray that I will always retain that.

Curling

I attended the Brier last week and it was amazing. Whoever says that Curling is not an amazing sport of skill, strategy and athletics has not seen it or tried it. Wow it more that fits the bill. Kevin Martin of course, won. His team curled near perfect. Love watching it and leaves me thinking perhaps I should try it out again.

Next week I start back in the work force. 10 years absence! I am nervous of course, not about the job, I feel confident in my skills and it is something I am passionate about, ESL. How to get back to managing my time in an orderly manner? What about all those spur of the moment activities I so enjoy. Hiking, bible study, golf, other volunteer activities I love, knitting, reading. Extending camping trips.

This winter I have been studying Exodus with Precept and of course Moses. He was reluctant to do what God called him to do. Even though he had all the skills required and God's help he still resisted. I feel like him. Give up the old comfortable life and try something new, step up for the next stage. God promised I am with you, who should I say, Moses asks...YAHWEH - I AM. He who is and always has been, I am with you.
